Does XOpus support DITA? If so, how can I get a sample download, if not, how do I do a DITA customization?

Xopus supports DITA, but perhaps not as directly. The first step in using Dita with Xopus is to tell Xopus how to load schema files from the catalog. We have written a small javascript file to do this.
The second step is to think about how you want to resolve conrefs, maps, etc. We are currently working on a solution ourselves. This means we are not adjusting Xopus to suit DITA, but creating an implementation that meets DITA's needs and makes better use of its features. Jim, I was about to suggest that you mail your questions to support@xopus.com , but I notice that you have done so twice already. We have emailed you the above, including the mentions samples, schema loading files, and such, three time already. Apparently those emails never arrive with you. The latest email I, sent you was from January 5th and included more information than I have written here. I also emailed on the 7th to confirm the arrival of the email of the fifth. I suggest you try to see if it was caught by some firewall or spam filter... I will send it again, using my personal email address, rather than the support one. |

Jim, I noticed that I already did what I said I would do, also on the fifth. The subject of all mails was "Re: (Case 185102) Questions" and attached was a "dita.zip". I hope you can find it, because I am running out of ideas of how to get that information to you.

I've sent it to your email. It is also available here: http:/
For a taste of this sample implementation you can take a look here:(IE only) http:/ Please note that this is a mere demo. The XSL's are custom, some elements are hidden in the interface because of the large amount of options otherwise. |

DeveloperCarl, the above dita_demo URL doesn't work anymore (maybe because of 4.0.5). It shows up a dialog and never finishes loading. |

ThanksI've corrected the problem. The demo is working again. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. |

The demo is great, I understand you are still working on the DITA part. When do you think you could have a complete solution, including conref support?
thanks |

Hi Yan,
That demo is pretty old. We've been working on an Xopus for DITA release of Xopus, with more features geared towards editing DITA, as well as a configuration to support this. This configuration is the greatest effort, since it allows the developer to change a great many things about how elements behave, and how the interface deals with them. We are still working on this. Xopus for DITA. There will be a BETA release next week, but we need more time, and so a complete release will come in January. |
